Question:

Is my Ipod compatible with Windows Vista?

I have a 2GB Ipod. When I connect it to my laptop, nothing comes up. When I click on the Computer icon on my desktop, it identifies my Ipod as Removable Disk (F:). I can't just drag the music file because it says the disk must be formatted first. However, this erases all of my current music files. The Help section for the Windows Media Player says I should be able to select to manually sync a playlist to my portable device. I created a playlist to sync, but can't click on start sync. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing a step? PLEASE HELP!!! Step by step instruction would be greatly appreciated. I am not familiar with vista.

  1. You should download the latest version of iTunes rather than using WMP.  The latest iTunes is Vista compatible.  (and it's free)
