Is my LCD tv HD. Screen res 1280 x 768. 16:9. Make and model: Panasonic TX32LXD1.?

I know that it has a setting somewhere saying 1080 i or p. The reason I want to know is to establish whether or not I can upgrade my sky box to a HD sky box.

Yes, your TV is an HDTV. You won't find a 1080p setting though because your TV isn't capable of anything more than 720p or 1080i. Both of these resolutions are good enough reason to upgrade to an HD Sky box because Sky doesn't broadcast in 1080p. Your picture on HD channels will look much better with an HD box.
