I was very close to both.... I've had occasions when I've smelled my Grandmother but not my Mother....I go to the Grave of my Mother and Grandmother often but I feel especially close to my Grandmother.

  1. They may be. If I was in the afterlife, though, I'd spend my time looking at the stuff I missed when I was alive, not hanging around the town I was born and died in. They may alternate between you, that waterfall in South America that is the tallest in the world, and the town in Alaska that has a spectacular display of Northern Lights.

  2. We cannot tell you that.  We are genealogists, not fortune tellers, psychics, mind readers, or whatever.

  3. True story--the day of my dad's funeral in February 1998 when I got in my car to head back to the city where I lived and worked, I  smelled the pungent odor of a particular type of deli sandwich my dad loved.  The car was locked, and I hadn't purchased that kind of a take-out sandwich in many months. Without thinking, I said, "Dad, stop that", and the smell immediately disappeared.  Talk about spooky!

Yes, you may be sensing the presence of your grandmother if my extrasensory story has any truth to it, but I'm sure your mother is looking after you as well.
