I took a practice PSAT and my scores were

540 Math

440 Reading

570 Writing

I'm not sure if it's good or not but I'm still prepping for PSAT Thanks!

PS. Some PSAT tips would help too :)

  1. Your reading is.... ugh.... math and writing are okay... should be better. Depends what kind of student you are.

  2. is that out of 1800 or 2400?

  3. Your selection index is very near the median score.  Purchase a PSAT prep book with as many sample exams as possible and take them under test conditions (no outside resources, timed) and grade them (the book should explain how to do this).  Identify your weaknesses and begin systematic review.  Best wishes.

  4. 540+440+570=1550

it's not so bad if you're willing to work hard. math and writing: practice practice practice. even if you're really good at math in school, SAT math is a different story. all the questions are redundant in style so practicing is a big help. for reading, i'd say read alot of different style of writing. for example, read science fiction articles one day, a historical article another day, political one etc. and if you can find a topic that both a scientist and historian wrote on (or other scholars), try comparing the two to see the different point of views and the examples that back their thesis
