  1. The Schengen agreement allows countries to remove their internal borders and allow people to travel without checks from country to country.

Neither Poland nor the UK have signed this agreement so - yes - you need a valid passport.

  2. UK immigration will not let you in without a passport. You need your passport for travel to the UK.

  3. Most British people are ignorant of the rules applying to national ID cards, since they don't have one themselves. ALL EU citizens can enter the UK with only a National ID card - a passport is NOT required, and this rule is not dependent on membership of the Schengen Agreement.

  4. I think I've got a better idea than the other respondents, remember the British don't know too much about this kind of thing because we don't yet have obligatory id cards. So if you are British its passport on nothing.

I'm pretty sure that any form of id that is valid in one member state is valid for travel to all. This is a fact for example from Spain to the U.K or France to the U.K. So French or Spanish citizens can travel to the U.K. using only their state id cards.

The only thing that you might want to check is if there is an exception for new member states like Poland, which would surprise me as that would be extremely unfair.

  5. Yes you need a passport to travel between any European Union countries.

  6. yes

try getting through the airport without one, you won't.

  7. Yes, scotland, wales or irland can drive over without one
