Over the last few weeks no matter how often I water it the plant doesn't respond and appears to be dead or going dormant. Is it it dead or getting ready for winter?

  1. That's it. The growing season is over for this year. Your flowers are now dormant. They will spring up again next year. These flowers are perrenials.

  2. It could be a number of things... The growing season out by me (IL) is not over with yet... You could have over watered and gotten a root rot but I don't know those to get rot easily.. What is it doing? Wilting, turning brown, are some leaves yellowing, are parts of the stems dying back? And what state do you live in? I fear your poor daisy may be dying because in most places it is much much to early to get ready for winter.

  3. If it's dead, you'll know come spring.

Here in the northeast they are still flowering but it is highly likely yours has stopped flowering and is getting ready for the winter.
