this is its whole name: 32" FD Trinitron® WEGA® Digital TV.

It has component input, does that mean its HD ready?

  1. no that doesn't mean HD ready.  take a look at the back of the TV and see what the model number is and google it.  Usually an HD TV would have an HD sticker on the front of it.


  2. Your tv is compatible with a progressive scan dvd player supporting resolutions up to 480p. You can, however, use these ports to plug in an HD source and it will look clearer. It will display a letterbox though since this set is not widescreen.

  3. HD Ready means it's capable of displaying up to 480p... HDTV means it's capable of going up to 720p or higher... just because it's got a component input does not mean it's HD
