I've had it for a few years but don't know if it is a digital TV.

How will this affect the digital switchover?

  1. its not digital in the way you are asking.

You will need a freeview box as switchover to keep watching normal TV - not sky or cable - these are unaffected

you will need one of these http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.202-2322.asp...

    Catalogue number: 202-2322

    or similar.

Without one, you wont get a picture from your aerial.

  2. if its digital t.v it,ll have freeview built in, if it does,nt u will have to buy a freeview box

  3. It's not. Only receives analogue signal. So, as suggested before when they switch over to digital completely in 2012, you'll have to get a new tv or a freeview box, but that's 4 years away, so relax.

It's well worth getting a freeview box now though (if you've not got sky or cable already), since you can get digital radio on them, and generally more choice on what to watch (top gear repeats  and film four)

I personally find the image quality better than on analogue, just wish they'd kept teletext the way it used to be.

  4. I wouldn't worry about the switch over. The t.v is analogue but ANY television is capable of displaying a digital signal via a set-top box and this can be Freeview, Sky, Cable or even Free Sat.

When terrestrial transmissions do eventually switch over to digital I suspect freeview boxes will be dished out to those that require one free of charge for connection to standard televisions. The only problems that may develop are aerial upgrades may be required to receive all channels.
