Is my antivirus software is correct? what really is a Antispyware???

hi .. i have avast antivirus installed in laptop.. i m using windows XP sp2. i wanted to know that is i m using right antivirus software or i should change it ... if i should change it then which antivirus should i download .. that can be free for download....

and i wanted to know that wat is a antispyware???

and wat things should i download for my laptop to run nicely..

plzzz help me..

Your antivirus program AVAST is excellent!  

Many folks here are advising you to use what is "popular" with them, .... oh but beware some of those recommendations have problems including allowing a virus to download.

So trust someone who has gone through the gauntlet.

You need to get yourself a better antivirus installed and a firewall installed.

Avast is fine, AVG is a resource hog and has less functionality.

hi i use AVG free 8.0 you can download it from the avg website and it works really good. and for spyware i use spybot search and destroy also a free program
