He's very placid and happy. He takes 6x 7 or 8oz bottles of formula a day.

  1. oh no!  my son was born 9.11oz and at 10 weeks went to the doctor and they said he was 15lbs! I asked I should be concered, and they said not to worry! Though the doctor said yes he is eating a little more than other babies, he is amazed that he is developmentaly at about where 5mth olds are! Your son might be the same way, I wouldn't even worry about it. My son takes about the same amount of bottles, and sometimes he will not even worry or ask to eat, and when offered could care less, like when we notice he only is sipping at the bottle, thats when we give him the paci.

But either way, don't worry about it, if you are concerned, ask his pediatrician! Best wishes and all the luck <3

  2. is anyone in ur family big?  cuz normally is from genetics!  I have a 2nd cousin...born...and both of her parents weren't big....but she is!  U just really gotta watch his weight...and cut down on his food when he's older!♥

  3. A baby will grow at the rate it is supposed to given the correct amount of food etc.  My son had a healthy appetite (about the same amounts of milk) too.

The health visitors seemed to think he was fine.  He's now 6 months and his weight is now over 21lbs!  he's a big boy but that's fine.

  4. thats is fine, as long as hes happy he be fine...

My son was a big baby, and will always be on the doctors charts. Just keep what you're doing...

  5. Don't listen to anyone that says your baby is too fat! Even a doctor. My son weighed 10lbs 1oz and was 16 days EARLY, at 8 months he weighed 30 pounds. I was a ten pound baby and his dad is 6'3". All my son ate was breastmilk and formula. Babies know when they are hungry. I had a stupid doctor with my son who told me to feed him water at every other feeding at the age of two months! Needless to say, I switched doctors. My huge baby is now a 75 pound, 4'5" SIX YEAR OLD who will be seven in one month. He is so big it's scary but not at all overweight. He is lanky but on the weight charts, is still considered 'overweight' even though he has very little body fat.

Babies know what to do, if he's hungry he'll eat, if he's not, he won't!

Good Luck and congrats on your sweet little chunky baby!

(PS, I had two more babies with a different father who is as short as I am and they were barely 8½ pounds!)

  6. As long as he is happy and growing nicely he is fine. if the doctors or helth visitor hasnt said he is growing too fast then he is fine. he sounds perfecly alright to me!

My daughter was 7lbs 12ozs when she was born and now she is 10 weeks tomorrow and weights 13lb 5ozs.
