my baby only occasionally has a fleeting smile on her face - she cannot maintain eye contact for more than a second or two and never laughs - she only catnaps throughout the day and wakes 2 or 3 times in the night - she is 3 months old and growing well should i be worried?

  1. I don't think you need to worry at all. 3 months is still very early for a baby. My first daughter was really quick at developing where as my second daughter was alot slower. All babies just do things at their own paces. If you have any concerns speak to your health visitor for a bit of peace of mind.

  2. she's fine you will see more eye contact and more attempts to laugh and talk over the next few months.  same with the sleep habits

  3. You should be worried

  4. Try not to be too concerned, but maybe a check up would put your mind at ease.  My son (now 7.5 months) was never a quick developer.  He still is about 1 month behind everyone else his age.  I have had him thoroughly checked and he is absolutely perfect.  I did feel much better when I had him checked out.  Make sure you see a Paed though, not just a GP.

  5. Well it's only very young, thats what you'd really expect from a 3month old. I'd say everythings normal. So i wouldn't be worried.

  6. Every baby develops at their own pace. Its too early to tell. If she's still like this at 6 months, you may start to have some concern but you couldn't tell anything yet. For a 9 month old, that could be a sign of autism but at 3 months it doesn't mean anything yet.

  7. Me and your baby have similarities. (:
