Is my baby turtle Okay?

I just got a baby red eared slidder turtle. He is very small!! His water is not all the way to the accuierd water temp, but its getting there, and he keeps swimming into the glass?!? I dont know if that s normal or not, can you help me out?>

  1. He should be fine...he may be seeing his reflection or like others said just not accustomed to the boundaries yet! As long as he is active and within 2 weeks is eating regularly, I bet he will be fine!


  2. My turtle does that too. It is okay, turtles like big spaces, As long as your water temp is about 25 Celsius. P.S. Make a little piece of land in your water tank, turtle like to bask to stay warm and keep they immune system up and about.

  3. Ours did this when we first got him.  As the previous poster said, they just dont realize it ends.  They're figuring out their surroundings and its different for them.  He/she will stop eventually.

  4. well as long as the temp is between 65 and 85 it should be fine

    and ya dont worry u see to the turtle there is no glass he's just mad that theres an ivisible shield blocking his way to go further so he just keeps going....turtles arnet very bright
