ok so i got my belly button pierced in june and in having some problems.when i take it out the bottom usually has crust on it and yellow liquid comes out from the hole and the it starts bleeding, only a little though. but this only happens with the bottom hole not the top. also the skin around the bottom hole is pulled up and looks like it is healing round the ring that way. its kinda hard to explain but can someone help me out. do you think its infected? also i have been losing some weight and working out alot could that be the problem?what should i do?

p.s i have been cleaning it with saline solution

  1. Yeah it is! I would clean it with some peroxide.

  2. clean it twice a day with some slightly diluted Bactine..

as much salt water as you can get on it ( not super concentrated).. sounds a little infected but should be fine with care...

could for sure be sweaty clothes rubbing..

  3. could be rubbing on your clothes, pack it with sea salt. it won't burn and will draw the infection out. infact if you mix it with some water and use it as a spray you will find its quite soothing.

  4. There are a few things. It could be because you are working out...sweat and dirt could be getting trapped in there so make sure you clean it out after every workout and in the morning and night. Also keep cleaning it with the saline solution and maybe use peroxide once or twice a day (this will clean it and help dry it out).

If your problem keeps happening then try replacing the "ring" because you may be having a reaction to the metal. This happened to me when i got my ears pierced and once i changed the earrings they healed up and got better within a few days.

If your problem persists after that then i would see a doctor because you may need antibiotics.

  5. It doesn't sound infected.  The yellow liquid and crust are normal as long as it doesn't have green to it.  It's bleeding because after having it for not even three months you shouldn't be removing it.  You're just prolonging the healing time and exposing an open wound to all kinds of germs.  Leave the d**n jewelry in until it's healed.  Clean it 2-3 times a day with a sea salt solution as well as after you work out.

This is all info that should've been given to you by your piercer by the way, so I'd suggest going to someone else if you intend to have further piercings.  If you're that worried about it, then go to a professional and ask their opinion on the condition of your piercing and how you should care for it if there is an infection.

edit: If your piercer told you that you can change it after a month, then they're c**p.  Don't go back to them.

Also, you don't ever want to use alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, etc. on a healing piercing.  They're way too harsh and can kill healing cells in addition to the germs and bacteria.

  6. sometimes peoples bodies re-act to the ring differently. my friends was infected and hers was all red, and was oozing stuff. first of all, you're not supposed to take out your ring until 6 months later. so thats probably the issue. you took it out too early, and thats why it would be infected. being skinnier, and losing weight has nothing to do with it. I only know this because i got mine done in june too. i never took mine out, and mine is not infected. just keep using the solution and try not to take it out anymore.

  7. All seems normal except for the bleeding and weight-loss part. Try not to touch it much, and only do gentle excercises, cleaning it afterwards and daily. Cleaning it with a cup of hot water a a 1/4 teaspoon of salt, cooled, cleans it fine aswell.

  8. first you should stop using the stuff they gave you and try plain alcohal if its still in infected take out you stud and disenfect your hole then see a doctor they can help what ever you do dont put you ring back in

i hope your hole heals up soon=)
