Question:

Is my beta fish dying?

My beta fish is a little older than 2 years. All it does is lay on the bottom and breath really deeply. It can barley move to the top for food.

Please help and fast. Thank you.

  1. Peas worked for mine , too. I didn't mash, but I'm sure it doesn't matter. Can't hurt.

    they do this when they are cold

  3. When you get male bettas the life span you get is between 2-4 years depending on how old he was when you got him. If he is doing this with not apparent syptoms or illness he may just be old. If he does show any sign of illness describe it and then I'll edit my answer. The only I thing I can think of is old age.

  4. Try giving it mashed up cooked peas.

  5. My sisters fish was 4 when he died. He did not die from old age, my sister put him out in our garage during winter. He was frozen. Literally.
