Is my beta fish starving?

i feed my beta fish every morning and night and it eats so violently and makes chewing noises.i love my beta fish please help!

  1. No, he's not starving :) You're feeding him the right amount.  Bettas are just greedy little guys, and ferocious eaters.  They most always attack their food to eat it, rather than being delicate about it.


  2. Betta's are pigs and will literally eat until they explode. Don't worry he is not starving he is just being him. They are like goldfish in that sense.

  3. I doubt it.  Most likely you are OVER feeding.  Betta will eat themselves to death if you let them.  A betta need about as much food as his little eye ball a day.  (Assuming you are feeding a high protien betta food if not double it.)  Ideally you should fast him once a week.  Betta can go days without food without harm.

    PS- Not that there is anything wrong feeding twice a day if it's a really small amount.

    if u give me a lot of food, they will simply eat it allllll... till their stomach gets REALLLLLLYYYYY huge then they will stop.. tt will shorten their lives...
