I love my beautiful betta fish. He is amazing but i have realized that he is losing his color and he is shrinking. I feed him and give him betta water conditioner in his water. I have had him for about 2 years and i love him to death but i think hes dying. What do you think and if he is dying then what can i do to extend his life? Note: I take care of my betta and he is in a 5 gallon tank by himself

  4. Your betta is probably getting old... Or maybe he has extreme ick.

Are there ununsuall white splotches on and around his head?

If so, he probably has ick.

You can buy ick-away for about $3 dollars at your local wal-mart.

  5. try to buy a buddy. if your fish is use to more fish that might be why.

  6. Does he have an heater?

Maybe you should change his food!

Is there anything wrong with his fins?

Is he reacting to his reflection as usual?

    Maybe he is getting old.

Although they can live up to 5 / 6 years.
