Question:

Is my bin invisible?

The council routinely forget to collect my bin. I live in the middle of a row where no vehicles have access. They do the road at the top, and halfway down my row. Then they do the road at the bottom and the other half of my row. More often than not they neglect to come to middle and collect mine.

They say we should leave the bin by the front gate and they will walk up to collect it. Can't they see mine? I am getting a little tired of having to phone the refuse department and getting them to come out especially for me, and missing work so I can make sure they do it.

I pay my council tax on time in full.

  1. COMPLAIN THE ONLY WAY TO GET THEM TO EMPTY BIN

  2. this may sound a little EXTREME but if i were in your place i would first file a formal complaint. if there are others on your row that are having the same problem i would launch a petition to have the sanitation workers fired for laziness & corruption.

if they still refused to provide the services that you are paying out the back-side for, i would consider dumping my bin on the council's doorstep in the middle of the night. especially if there are others on your row that are having the same problem.

    have-a-loving-day!

  3. Definitely talk to the local council about it, the proper people could help get the job done.

But take a walk to the end of the row and check it's visibility from the point of view of the collector. If it's plainly visible, it sounds like someone might be losing track of how far up they've gone from one side or the other... Can you put something obvious on top of yours that they'd have to move and know they've moved to empty it? An old cowboy hat or some such oddity might do the trick. They'd remember it and would know if they've made it that far.

While it's not common to tip the collectors where I live, a hat full of money might do the trick too.

  4. If you see them and they miss your bins then run up to them in ur pajamaz and slap one of the dustbin man then say 'oops i thought u were a french-man.

If they dont do it agen then get ur garbage and throw it in there faces.

most sensible answer: Maybe if no cars go down ur road then while they are passing ur road then put a bin in the middle of the road and then they might take it, but if they hit it then call the police and say the garbage-men never take my rubbish and once they hit it and i had to pick it all up (poor me)

  5. go tip your rubbish in the council office- they will empty next week

  6. is it Bin Hiding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. where we live you have to put your bin out on the road footpath unless you have "dispensation" ie disabled, not just elderly.then they will collect from outside your house and return it,though that does sometimes not happen if they use an agency for operatives!

  8. Write to the manager of the waste control dept and complain. You will get a response and he will sort out the problem.

  9. As a guy who at one time worked on the garbage truck I would say that garbage pickup people do often forget to pick up from particular houses where there has been no tipping, not even at xmas.

Now of course this is only used as a friendly reminder, never as an outright demand for money.

They will not even tell you why it is happening to you in particular.

It is the same as failing to tip in restaurants. You get what you don't tip for.

  10. go to the concil office and complain about it and tell them u wont pay your concil tax unti they start collecting it again
