I have a parrotlet, she's about 6/7 years old. She has a crippled foot and a pink lump on her wing from laying eggs (both were checked out by the Bird Doctor a long time ago) She's usually so calm and will puff up cuddle but today she's acting like everything's trying to hurt her and sometimes she will freak and start flying to the ground. When I put her back in her cage she just stays on the bottom chewing up the paper or nibbling residue. She is freaking out a lot. We can't get her to a vet now so if you have an idea of what's wrong PLEASE let me know!

  1. Pink Lump on her wing from layings egg's ~

what in the world would laying egg's have to do with a growth

forming on a birds wing!? A REAL vet told you that? Or a

dog and cat vet that was guessing.

I would supect this growth is painful and color suggests that it is and may be the cause of her dis-stress.

She needs to be seen ASAP by an Avian vet.

  2. well...when birds go to the ground you should get vet help emediatly it means she sick or dieing, or she may have got a little scared and needs a few days of resting just put a cover over her cage for a few days if you cant get the vet but i recomend you go to the vet because it seems that somethings wrong with her shes very young good luck i hope it helped hope your bird gets back to normal.

  3. maybe something scared her earlier.. doesn't sound like she's dying though.. make sure it's not too cold near her cage..
