Question:

Is my birthday even worth celebrating?

I'm 26 going on 27 (birthday's in a couple of weeks). During the past year, I encountered all of sorts of trouble.

I lost my best friend to an on-the-job accident. I worked a job that I loved at first but ended up crushing my soul. My childhood skin condition came back with a vengeance. To top it all off, I had to give up the girl I loved for almost seven years just to stop my so-called family from giving me grief.

It's obvious I'm not looking forward to celebrating my 27th. What's the point when life wasn't kind to me during the past twelve months?

  1. you are celebrating a new start and a new year of your life. see it as starting afresh you never know where this year may lead, it may be full of new opportunities.

i am sorry to hear about your friend but i am sure they wil want you to be happy, Find a job you like and you may meet a new girl. good luck. :)

  2. That is ok. You can still celebrate your birthday, you know life is sometime very unfair, you lost your friend, lost your job, and your girlfriend, but does't mean that's the end,you can start over. I think you SHOULD celebrate your birthday, because you can only celebrate your 27th birthday once in a lifetime,so celebrate it. Don't give up the job that you love the most,be strong. YOu can do it. I hope you will have a wonderful birthday.and  I hope you can start a new happy life

  3. you need some spoiling.buy yourself a bday present,a cake and dedicate the day to YOU.set goals for the next twelve months.throw worries in a box and burn them, and watch your life spark new flames in the new year.good luck!

  4. It's simple.  Your still here and you need to continue.  Ask yourself if your best friend would condone your attitude. And what would he tell you.
