Is my boyfriend over his ex wife?

I have been dating this guy for 1 year now, known him for 5 years, we were at his oldest son's cub scout outing and the son was upset and his mother was holding him in her arms, my boyfreind wanted to give him some pointers on how to win the next game coming up, he procdeed to neal down pretty much on top of his ex wife and whispered in his sons ear, he was in her lap to say the least and they were touching, he did this 2 more times instead of having his son come talk to him.

I asked him why he was doing that and he didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with it, I asked him if he would have don that if her boyfreind woudl have been there and he said NO, he wouldn't have gone near her.

I have to ask, why would her boyfriend being there make a difference.

I know I am probably being petty, but rest assured he wouldn' t like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

I don't want to be that close to my ex with or without his girlfriend being there.

He wouldn't have gone near her if her boyfriend was there because he uncomfortable around her boyfriend.  More than likely he's uncomfortable around the boyfriend because he still has some feelings for his ex and knows his role in her life is different now.  As far as leaning over the ex to talk to his son, not a big deal.  As far as touching, its a bit of an issue.  If its something he wouldn't do in front of her boyfriend then he shouldn't be doing it at all.

That's weird that his response is that he would NOT if her b/f was around but it's okay if you're around. hmmm.... he knows it's not appropriate! I'd be ticked off if it were me!!! I am like you, I don't want to be in the same state as my ex! Hope you work it out.

Hmm.  My first instinct is to say that you're overreacting.  Having a child changes the dynamics of any relationship.  She will always have to be a part of his life because of it, and you have to learn to accept it.
