Is my brother smoking?

my brother comes home sometimes, and he smells like smoke, his breathe smells like smoke, he denies it and says he hangs around people who smoke, which makes him stink like that and his breathe, hes 17 almost 18...and i care about him but my mom and aunt keep saying he isnt smoking and he would tell them if he has. are these signs he is smoking?

Yes, if his breath smells like it, he probably is.

You can tell him all the horror stories about how it will affect

him, but at 17 kids think they will live forever and that only

happens to the other guy.

Good luck; hopefully it's a passing attempt to look older or

cool or some other misguided way.

With all of you looking after him, he hopefully won't get in

any worse mischief.

If your gut instinct is telling you something, you're right as a general rule.

Shame.  He's only 17 and has a lifetime ahead of him.  He can do with one less vice as an adult.  Unfortunately, for all the information out there, it doesn't seem to mean anything to some people.  I guess we can all be guilty of only accepting what we want to accept.

Until he admits it, he probably won't want help or advice. :-(

And, passive smoking, in the worst case scenario, can come with all the risks, too, depending on how long he's around his smoking mates.

are his teeth yellow? Does he cough alot? like the deep clearing of the lungs type of cough.

also hanging around people who smoke will make you smell like smoke, but unless you are smoking your breathe won't smell like it.

my mom accused my brother of the same thing, only he's 13.....anyway, i know my brother is a good person and is probably just hanging out with the wrong crowd, i'm sure ur brother is a good ol chap and just hanging around with smokers,,,
