Question:

Is my bunny a boy?

I bought 2 baby bunnies in May of 08.

One of them is a Holland Lop and the other a Lion Head.

I was told they were both girls. However recently I noticed my Holland Lop bunny Climbs up on my Lion Head bunny and shakes his legs as if it was a boy bunny?

Is this normal behavior for a girl bunny? or was the employee in the pet shop mistaken, and its really a boy bunny?

Thanks.

  1. Have a look at its genitals and see if you can tell by looking at pictures of male and female rabbits on google. If you can't tell, probably the best option is to take them both to a licensed veterinarian NOT A PET SHOP to have them sexed. The holland lop could just be a particularly randy bunny even if it is a girl.. who knows? Get them sexed and bear in mind that if they are different sexes the female could well be pregnant.

  2. i have 5 indoor rabbits. one of my fems will hump the other rabbits if she can get close enough to them. also you can s*x them yourself if they are lil older, it is hard to tell with  very young rabbits.if  you sit down and lie the rabbits back on your knees with his head hanging over the end of your knees, this will calm them.just push down  around there genitals, if it is male a small p***s will pop out, they kinda look the same cept the males p***s will be solid, the fems genitals willcome out also but will have a small hole in the end of it. another way of telling  males from fems sometimes is...the fem will have a double chin, a big bundle of fur just below her lips, that looks like a double chin. the males do not have this. hope this helped.

  3. even though people usually think that only boy bunnies do that i is known to happen that the same genders of the same animal does this.

  4. look at it's stomach and see. Not hard to tell
