I have a Nikon D70 and it won't switch on. I thought it was a battery problem - but I have two batteries and neither has worked.

I took about 200 photos at the weekend and it worked fine, hasn't been wet. All I've done since the weekend is change lenses, tried several - 2 I'd used before but one was an old one I'd just found. I got what looked like an error code and when i switched it off it wouldn't switch back on. Absolutely nothing happens.

Is there a reset button or something, thats all i can think of.

  1. You asked about a reset button.  There is one on the bottom of the camera.  It's a tiny button you need to push with something small and pointy.  After that you will need to set the date and time again.  Somehow it remembers all your other settings.

I'd try calling Nikon first, or looking through the troubleshooting pages in your manual.  It has some really helpful information.

  2. Most Nikon DSLR's will not work if the memory card is full or not in its slot.

Also if the lens is not focused, then it will not work either.

What lens exactly did you put on the camera ... did you have to force it on?  If so you may have damaged the cameras internal lens contacts.
