Question:

Is my can of beans contaminated?

I just opened two cans of Goya black beans that are dated to expire 4/14/2011, and there were particles of a clear, whitish jelly all throughout the beans. They just didn't look right. I've opened cans of Goya beans before and they didn't look like this. What's this jelly stuff?

  1. The white stuff is normal bean juice and the spots are tiny pieces of bean skin. But I know what you mean; suspicious foods take the appetite away.

'When in doubt - throw it out!'

    But they're probably still good!
