Question:

Is my car a piece of junk?

Should I trade this car in? It's a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

The valves start to float at 10,500 rpm

The door seals leak in the rain at 160 mph.

The sunroof pops open at 150 mph

Gas mileage is down down to 90 mpg.

Hub caps pop off on jumps over 12 feet.

Should I fix this car up or replace it with my neighbours 1985 Hyundai Pony?

  1. HAHAHA

"the door seals leak in the rain at 160 mph"

sell your car, never heard of a '67 beetle going 160

  2. Go for the Hyundai, it is a pretty little car!!

  3. Yes it is a piece of junk, how much do you want for it?

  4. don,t go any where near that hyundai! seriously the bug is very cheep to fix , everywhere has parts and with a manual ,anybody can fix one.

  5. well its only a 67,keep it under 10,500 on the tach-only go 149mph-and go over bigger jumps than 12 feet.the hyundai would never do all that.s***w the gas mileage.just steal it from the people next door.lose the sunroof and call it open air driving.enjoy it till it rains then the door seals wont matter.

  6. These are typical problems of the old vw's. I owned many and used to race them and had the same problem. I would pass on the Hyundai and keep the V dub.

  7. No, I don't think so, just modify your driving habits a bit. Give the old girl a break, she's over 40 now.

  8. With those specs I would say that you have Herbie.  I'd keep him and give him a nice paint job and tlc.
