  1. Weight will vary from cat to cat.  I have a cat who is currently at 14 lbs and our vet would like to see him gain more.  Another cat we had for many years never weighed more than 6lbs and lived a healthy live until her death at 16.

We feed our cats a serving of wet food every morning and evening.  Good quality (vet recommended) dry food is available for a quick munch at all times.  We do offer kitty treats randomly and our big guy can never resist roast chicken.

Keep your garbage away from your cats and use a can with a lid.  And, try discouraging him from your food with a quick squirt of water from a spray bottle.

If your kitty is always hungry, you should have him checked by your vet.  It might just be his nature or there could be a medical problem.

    Good Luck!

  2. Actually, that's too much. All the vets I've talked to say 1/2 cup flat per day. Anything over 8-10 lbs is considered obiese in the cat world. Your kitty needs to go on a diet. And invest in a spray bottle to keep him off the table and out of the garbage. It might be hard at first, but he will adjust.

  3. He's eating enough...he's just misbehaving. SRAY BOTTLE WORKS!!! spray him each and every time he does something worng and he wil soon stop. It's the best method to train a cat. I have 12 of them and I would dare to see one of mine on a table or in the trash. SPRAY HIM IN THE FACE, not just on his body!

  4. A good vet will also be able to advise you on the correct kind of food your cat needs, how much it should be eat per day and inform you about your cat's health. They can also check your kitten for flees and give your kitten any shots it might need.
