i rescued a stray cat from a trailer park where here owners were not feeding her or taking care of her. She had kittens about a month and a half ago i think but her old owners killed them. she is extremely thin but her stomach feels harder then normal and swollen. she follows us around the house and makes these little meow's the vet said that it felt like she could be pregnant but she wasnt sure. she was outside the other day and this black cat found her and followed her all the way back to out house. she wants a lot more attention now, and her stomach has become bigger but its not fat. if someone could help me figure out if my cat is pregnant or in hear that would be great. Thanks

  1. it could be worms but it sounds like she might be pregnant

however if she is pregnant, after she has the kittens get her fixed right away being that you let her outdoors where there are male cats.

if you keep the kittens, wait till they are old enough and get them spayed and neutered as well :]

  2. She very well could be pregnant again. If you want ,and I think this is very necessary , you can have her spayed right now. This same thing happened to me. I had been feeding a stray all winter. She had a litter, I don't know what happened to them. She brought 2 here, and I tried to catch them, with no success. I never saw them again. She kept coming here to be fed, and I could see that she was definitely pregnant. I made the necessary arrangements to have her spayed, which they did. They just abort the kittens. Some may think this is terrible, but it is more terrible to have all these unwanted kittens, which no one wants. So guess what. She's living inside now, and gradually my other 5 year old calico is making friends with her. She will never have another unwanted litter, or wonder where her next meal will come from. We love her!!! And BTW thank you so much for caring and taking her in and giving her a good home. You will forever be blessed!!!!

  3. Aw, that could be anything.. From being pregnant or something swollen =/ Take him or her to the vets, To have a scan. xxxx

  4. honestly i have recommended this before and it can go either way. first off i love all animals mostly cats but all animals, i volunteer at a cat shelter and have seen the pains young cats go threw when over bred (sp?) i would take her to the vet and get her spayed anyway, shouldn't be to much, if she is preggers, the vet can abort. i know it is terrible, but it is better than adding to the problem.

you did an awesome thing for taking in the kitty and i applaud you. Good Luck!
