So, My cat has been escaping the house lately, and coming back the next morning. Shes brought back some birds a few weeks ago. So when she came back a few days ago, shes hardly been eating and she wont even eat her treats. She ate yesterday, then threw it up after. She is sick, but I've heard there has been a dead robin found in my neighborhood a few days ago, and it had the West Nile disease. So, My question is does my cat have it? Like what are the signs that something has that disease? [and is there any cure if she does have it, other than prescribed medicine, like will it go away naturally, and I'm pretty sure this disease is deadly, Am I right? x_x] My mom is crazy about our cat, but she refuses to take her to the vet, because if she doesn't have that disease and its just a little stomach flu or something, she doesn't wanna pay the fee for a check-up. So, What should I do? Thanks.

  1. I agree with benglt.

That cat needs to go to the Vet or give it to some one who can take care of it.  Obviously if you are a kid it is your parents' responsibility.  I am sorry you are going through this.

    Good luck.

  2. Your cat needs to see a vet.

If she has not been spayed, please do so.

Now keep you cat home as an inside cat and your problems will be solved.

    Good Luck!

  3. I would still take the cat to the vet...

    1. you have suspicion of her biting a bird with west nile

    2. she's been escaping and killing wild animals

    3. she's throwing up food

    4. not eating.

one thing to watch with cats... if they eat, they're not terribly sick if you think they are, but if they stop eating all together, that's clearly not a good thing.

    take her to the vet.

  4. A pet is part of the family, like any other family member.  If your child were sick, would you take it to a doctor?  Take the cat to the vet and find out what's causing the vomiting and loose of appetite.  If you don't the cat could die of dehydration and starvation on top of whatever illness it may have.  If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet.

  5. I`d call the pound and ask them if they can help, explain to them  about the bird and lack of money see if they would at least look  at her.Otherwise you cout ld inquire to   the university and see what they  say they have grants for that  exact reason.

  6. It is very possible.  Bring her strait to the animal hospital.  She MAY have raibees.

  7. Umm 3 letters;V-E-T...
