Is my cat taking care of kittens properly?

Question

I have a mommaa kitty who's been amommaa for 2 days, and today I noticed that one of her kittens is a little soiled, and one kitten had p**p all over his tail. I tried to show mom, but shedidn'tt care at all. So, I cleaned him up, and noticed that he went to the bathroom immediately.I'mm worried that maybe Mommadoesn'tt know how to clean them up. This is her first litter.

I should probably also add, that Mom herself kinda smells like p**p right now, but at least she's keeping herself clean. She did clean her kittens when they were born, but since I try to let her have a lot of privacy, I cant keep an eye on them like I would like to, Ive only seen her l**k a kitten once (yesterday) but i figured she would clean them more often. She's feeding them with no problems at all, and isconcernedd when she hears them cry, and will call back to them (they cry when its weight taking time) ButI'mm very worried about the bathroom thing, and general cleaning of them. Any pointers?

HOW OLD IS THE LITTER, YOU SHOULD REALLY LEAVE THEM ALNE, MOMMY CAT IS PROBLY TIRED, AND MAYE DOESNT LIKE YOU GETTING INVLVED, POO ON TAIL WILL NOT HURT THEM, GIVE HER TIME, HOW MANY IN LITTER?

If this is the only incident then momma cat is doing okay. She maybe just a little warn out still. Most cats that I've dealt with have a pretty good mothering instinct.

just leave dem alne but i get dat u dnt w ant  pooped cats but leave them alne till they get old enough to comprehend and walk thn you  take a warm wett cloth and wipe them down

Your kittens are fine.Every cat has her wa of taking care of her kittens. At the shelter where I work, we once had two mother cats who were pregnant and they had their litter the same day (coincidence!?). The black one didn't clean up after their poo right away, and the orange one didn't leave her kitten's sight.

She is probably just warn out, since its only been 2 days.

She will eventually clean them up.
