  2. When my conures were learning to talk they would make weird noises deep in their throats and sort of talk to themselves when they thought no one was around. Keep working on your bird! My sisters cockatiel can whistle the whole "Andy Griffith Show" theme!

  3. Probably!  Cockatiels do talk especially males!  They do make some odd noises.  They love to mimic noises as well which may be the noise you heard!  Try repeating phrases over and over again to him like "Pretty Bird"!  My 'tiel say "Pretty Bird" and "Birdy, Birdy, Birdy"!  It's so cute! Cinnamon Pearls are very pretty!  You should also try whistling tunes while around him.  They can whistle tunes very well.  It's amazing!  Mine does it very well.  Be persistent!  Your bird is at the age when they do start becoming more vocal!  Have you tried putting a mirror in there?  My male wolf whistles at himself!  It's so funny! I hope your cockatiel brings you many years of joy and laughter!
