I have 45 hours of class every week. Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM everyday. I have Saturday's and Sunday's off. Our school is prestige and on the quarter system, also these are honors classes mostly associated with science and math (I have Chem & Bio with Lecture, Discussion, Quiz, and Lab), some honors english courses, Calculus 2, and some advanced economics courses since econ is my minor. I'm not superior or anything, I just got into honors since I had a ton of AP credits from high school, but is this over packed? My friends keep saying that it is, since they have around 15 hours a week...

btw I go to JHU for Pre-Medicine (Thats my main major and concentration)

I also plan on doing some extra curricular like a premed club, debate team, chess team?, medical interning and volunteering, fencing maybe? Oh and I'm the type that likes to study and could care less about partying and being social...and I say that in a good way too.

  1. Typical recommendation is 2 hours of at home studying for every 1 hour of class.

    7 times 24, -45, -45, -45 = 33 hours a week.

    33 / 7 = 4.7 hours per day left over.

You'll be averaging 4 hours, 45 minutes of sleep a night, not counting transportation, hygiene, and eating - never mind extra curricular.

If you consider the average work week is 39 to 42 hours, divide that by 3, you should take between 13 and 14 hours of class, have 26 to 28 hours to study at home, and still have time for 3 meals, 8 hours sleep, and a part time job or extra curricular activities.

If you plan on 45 hours class, zero studying, you can fit it all in.
