Question:

Is my contact inside out?...?

Okay so I just got contacts and I put both in my eye right with no problems, but my left eye especially feels weird...It doesn't hurt but it just feels odd on the side of my eye.

If I do have it inside out, how can I tell? And will it damage my eye since I've worn these for almost half an hour already?

Thank you so much!

  1. I don't know if it'll damage your eye but you can tell if you hold it on your finger on way the edge looks nice and smooth when its inside out it comes out more and looks like the edge is kinda sharp, and some contacts have a tiny 123 on it so if you see it and read it right side up its good.

  2. If it's inside out, it likely won't stay in the eye, but a soft lens might and still feel uncomfortable.

There could also be dirt on the lens.

In any case, take it out and rinse it off, then put it back in.

To tell if a lens is inside out or not place it on the tip of your finger. A properly situated lens will curve in at the edges. An inside out one will curve out or look very straight at the edges. Also, a normal lens will easily fold in half if you squeeze it gently. An inside out one will not.

  3. Most contacts come with some sort of indicator on them to tell you whether its inside or out. Its really small, almost impossible for me to read, but I have horrible vision!
