I recently got a cory catfish and two bloodfin tetras, and I asked the woman at the petstore if the cory was ok on his own and she said yes, but I've been hearing that they are schooling fish and need a companion?

  1. I only got one too. I got him 3 days ago and this weekend I'm getting two more. Yes, they are a schooling fish ,but they can live live alone. People say "Your fish may look healthy and happy, but you will see a huge difference once you get more." So, I'd get a couple more.

  2. Cory cats are schooling fish and need friends :) I would get 2 or 3 more cory cats.

  3. 2-3 more would be good. I have 13 in my 50 gallon. They are the happiest fish you have ever seen. They love to chase each other up the side of the tank and play in the plants.

  4. Yeah i would recommend on getting 1 or 2 more Cory Cats. And maybe 2 more Tetras. I have a Peppered Cory Cat and a Pleco with him and they're like best friends!! hehe ;]

  5. I say get 2 more corys and at leasy 1 more tetra, as they are schoolers 2. ;)

  6. You should probably get more tetras. Just a suggestion. I had 1 cory and I got another and they love to cuddle. I would get 1 or 2 more if you have the space! Also, you don't have to get the same kind of cory. Say you have a bronze cory you can get an albino cory and they will be fine. :) Hope I helped!
