My daughter is smart but only 15 months. She has gotten into the habit of taking her diaper off and/ or pulling her p**p out. I saw this on Nanny 911 and was horrified and now she s doing it. My babysitter takes this as a sign that she is ready to potty train. I think it is a little young. What do you think?

  1. I would never potty train at this age, or at least not expect it!  wait til she is at least 2.  Potty training at this age & you can expect it to take longer & have several relapses.  Nothing wrong with bringing out the potty chair and having it in the bathroom, talk about it & let her sit on it.  If she potties in it make a big to do about it rediaper her.  She'll get to the point she'll demand no diaper then give it a try.  Let her build confidence first.  If she relapses, go back to the diaper & say nothing until she wants to do it on her own.  15mos is young, there is a lot of control they have yet to gain.  yes, some people are successful at it, but who wants to run mach 10 thru the grocery store with a little one that wants to go potty & has no physical concept of holding it?  I wait til they are speaking good sentences.  usually 2-21/2.  I have a potty training weekend when my house is suspected to be "unbusy"  i dedicate all my time and attention to potty breaks and lots of praise. ignore accidents and then after the weekend put the diaper on and forget it ever happened.  within 2-4 weeks later my kids are beggin to use the pot & we go from there.  This way its their idea & I know they are ready.  I have minimal accidents this way & it works rather quickly.  a few friends of mine have adopted my way & it works for them too.  Good luck

  3. I say GO for it my baby girl is going through the same phase of taking diapers off and taking the p**p out, but she brings it to me or puts it in the bathroom..lol! I can laugh now but It's not funny when it actually happens its very disgusting! It is a sign that she's ready to be potty trained everything takes time so you don't have to rush it but let her get the sensation of sitting on the potty or wearing a pull up. My daughter puts my underwear on and she doesn't just pick any its has to be the flashier the better..lol...and being that she doesn't know exactly how to put them on she puts them half way on her head and arm to get them around her waist or on her feet and stretches them to her shoulder! It's funny and sad to see them go from baby to big kid so easily ENJOY EVERY SECOND OF IT!

Love,Live,Life God bless you and yours!
