Is my dell computer a dual core?

i have a dell dimension e520. when i'm reading the computer details it says "Pentium D 2.8Ghz" does the the "D" stand for dual?

Yep sure does, but it isn't a true dual core.  You won't get no where near the performance of a core 2 duo with that pc.
