  1. No, it doesn't sound right.  For a 1 bedroom house..  I would contact the electric company again and have them come out to read the meter if any... Also, if possible change your lightbulbs to more energy efficient ones.. See if that makes a difference.  If it's only a television/and acouple of lamps it should be much less!

*If you have a computer- shut it off and turn off the power strip

    * If you have cell phones, ipods, other devices plugged in 24/7 turn them off when not in use... A powerstrip works well... Just flick the switch.

Same for stereo, television, dvd, vcr etc.... Maybe you have a lot of vampire power....

    Good luck

    Good luck

  2. Unfortunately yes, my average electric in my one bedroom was $65/m it really depends on the prices, but if it seems to be very high to you, which if you didn't have a problem you wouldn't be asking, then maybe something is shorting out that causes high bursts of electric to be used every time you use something. Also if you use a microwave a lot, this is a #1 reason electric gets expensive, extremely high kwh usage.

Maybe try talking to your neighbors, just to see what there's is on average, most people won't mind you asking as long as you have a good reason right. And I think its a good reason.
