Is my fan making me sick?

I'm a 25 yr old female and I really like to sleep with a fan right next to my bed and feel the cold breeze on my face. But now I have been waking up every morning with alot of tension in the back of my neck, a very dry nose, mouth, and eyes. Symptoms I assume related to allergies. Sometimes I even wake up sweating. This morning I actually checked to make sure the air conditioner was on. I know only a doctor can diagnose me. But anyone think it is related to the fan or something else?

  1. Have you had the air filter checked on your A/C & are the blades clean on your fan, if not the air circulating around you could be causing your symptoms.

  2. Yes it is possible that the fan is causing you to get sick.  I've heard about people that died from having the fan on all night long.  So it could be fatal and harmful since the breeze isn't natural like from the wind outside.

  3. Yes, it is possible the fan is making you sick. You could be developing allergies causing the  dryness. However, I think the sweating is unrelated. At 24 I started to get night sweats. Not much you can do about it, might just want to check with you doctor to make sure it is not hormone related. I would also get on some allergy meds such as singulair. Works great for my family.
