I cried so much half hour ago, i was conned by a plumber. I called him to fix a choked pipe. When on the phone he told me its abt 20-30dollars, when he came here he needed special tools to fix it and told me its $180, its just 5mins of work, and when i was paying him, he asked for another $100 for service fee. I feel so used..i had no choice but to pay up. he was already in my bedroom and i am alone at home with my 2 babies. I hate myself for calling him!!! and worst, i got his number from the classified in the papers, no company or anything. $280 is a lot of money.. arrghh... come to think of it, i am trying to save every dollar I have to do my marketing but i spent so much for such thing. My hubby wanted to fix it but he's been bz with work and at night he is at mosque, so i tot i want to do him a favour and call the plumber, but look what happened... i'm crying still, really really mad.

  1. I have never heard of a fast being broken by excessive crying, so I really doubt that your fast is  not valid. For women, the only way to break the fast is to have your period. Still to be on the safe side, I suggest that you ak a sheikh.

  2. I think that plumber is a digger. But to your question i don't think your fast has been valid.

  3. Report this plumber to the contractors license board. They will look into it. If they do and find him a crook they can suspend his license---if he has one.

I would be more interested in breaking his legs than breaking a fast if indeed  it took him only 5 minutes and he intimidated u!

  4. Hey it's just money, not worth crying over, that *** hole will lose that money one way or another.

You did the right thing by paying him, it's not worth arguing over and taking a risk.

Don't be too bummed, you learn from mistakes, next time get a reference from someone you know.

I don't know about your fast though I'm not Muslim.

  5. hey! really don't cry over money its a thing that comes and go

    "its the dirt of hand".

and as for ur fast i have never heard of "crying makes  fast invalid"!

  6. huh? what wuz the question?

anyway its an important life experience ... it wont happen again ...

next time state in bold letters the price and the job ... and the contract must be respected ... if it changed ... cancel the deal ... hes the one that went in the trouble getting to your place ... if he complains and demand reprimand and compensation for the trouble and cab fair ... then just say to him ... "you should not have lied to me"

  7. yes, of course it is sweety.

Plz dont cry, I feel really bad for u.

U should call the cops on that crook, say u payed him cuz u were scared, he clearly took advantage of u.

  8. yes ... it is still valid.I know it hurts when a halal money which earned by hard work...used in such a small piece of work...Just pray Almighty Allah that he will give you some relief.

people who generates money  in a illegal(haram) way don't think like that...

  9. First, your fast is NOT effected by such things.

Your fast, can break ONLY and ONLY !!!! if:

1-  if you deliberately eat or drink (directly or indirectly e.g. through drip) something before the sunset.

2-  Get into a sexual activity.

Besides these, there is no act, that breaks the fast, not even Menstruation.

    ---------------

On the other hand, I do regret that you fell a victim to such an oppotunitist. God will Inshallah compensate you several times for the loss incurred.
