Is my father a "cancer survivor?"?

Question

He had prostate cancer 10 years ago, and surgery cured him.

Five years ago, he attended a ceremony for cancer survivors.

Last year, he died of stomach cancer that had spread to his liver.

He was.....Usually 5 clear years qualifies one as a "survivor".

His stomach cancer and then metastases to the liver were probably not related, as he went 10 years inbetween.  But sadly enough, he wasn't a survivor this time around.

Yes, he was a cancer survivor. Unfortunately the second time round he didnt make it. I would still consider him a cancer survivor for the first time round. I am so so sorry for your loss.
