Question:

Is my filter too big?

I have had a ten gallon tank for about 4 months now with one goldfish in it (calico, 3.5 inches). I am switching to a 20 gallon tomorrow.

The thing is, the filter cartridge in my ten gallon was really gross and needed to be changed. I didn't have any more cartridges so I decided to set up my 20 gallon filter in the 10 gallon tank.

It would only be until tomorrow, but even for now I don't know if this filter is way too powerful for the tank and would bother my fish. Any suggestions?

  1. It should be perfectly fine until tomorrow.

  2. Try putting your fish net under where all the water comes out. It really messes up the water flow so there is less current. That should be okay. Hope I helped!!
