  1. that tank is sweet.

but my beta died, you don't want my help!

  2. Your Betta won't thrive. They generally do best in at least 2.5 gal of water with a heater and filter. Betta s will not die from being in a large tank, that is nonsense. It really doesn't have enough (if any) swimming space. Bowls are the biggest insult to fish keeping, they are not ample and your fish will not thrive, they will die much quicker then normal. In the wild they live in large bodies of water, not a tiny bowl with no room to swim. If anyone tells you else wise it just shows they have little to no knowledge in the fish keeping hobby. I will probably be seen as crude and harsh (with thumbs down) but it is the truth. A bowl is legal animal cruelty.

  3. OMG! tha bowl is HORRIBLE! wayyyy too small. contrary to Ashleys (FLASE) information, betas hrive in larger heaed, filtered tanks. please get him a 5g heated filtered tank asap. he will thrive and be happier!! =] oh and yes, eve w/o deco and just the fish, he bowl is oo crowded. =[  well good luck! =]

  4. That aquarium is made only for LOOKS and not the WELL BEING of your pet. If you want your betta to live a long life, sorry LONG and HEATHLY LIFE, at least get a 5 gallon tank or if you do not have the money a 2.5 gallon KIT.

All tropical such as bettas NEED a heater and a filter.

But is it your choice, and your money if you want to take care of your pet properly. Just please do not spread wrong advice to new pet care keepers.

  5. if i was you i would take out the thing in the middle so the fish has room to swim around but i would leave the other things so it's not boring.

  6. The answer previously given is incorrect, Betta's will not die if their tank is too big! Betta's can live in all sizes of environments.

Please remember that unlike most fish Betta's do get oxygen from the surface of the water, so they do need to have some air flow into their "bowl".

Your  bowl and decorations look fine, does not seem like too much.

You will want to change the water out every few weeks since it looks like your bowl does not have a filter.

  7. no

  8. Betas will actually die if their tanks are too big.  They enjoy smaller living space.  That said, I think it could use a tad more water.

Also, where is the air flow?  They can't have a covered lid.  There needs to be some circulation in there.

EDIT:  Just sharing the knowledge given to me from my pet store.  I wanted to put my fish in a large tank, but they informed me that it would likely die and to keep it under a 1.5 gallons.  I think your bowl is fine.

EDIT 2:  Also, I've had my Bettas for 3.5 years--in an unfiltered fish bowl and they are very healthy, happy fish.
