Is my flat haunted?

I dont want any wise guys making cracks at this. I and my boyfriend are both skeptics and the weirdest things are happening. I first noticed it when anything I put in the second bathroom would vanish. Nothing that you would misplace, things like toilet brushes, soaps, not things you would pick up and take around the house. Then, I would find the shower had been left on, I DONT EVEN USE THAT ROOM, its just for guests. Shower curtains pulled down and odd designs written on the mirror. I had ignored all this until I the door had started closing itself and locking the door. The lights start flickering on and off and any photos I take have the image of a person in all of them. There is no chance of a double exposure as it is a digital camera. I am now finding that everything I hang on the wall is either taken down or tilted the next few days following. Yesterday, the oddest and scariest thing happened. As I went to open the door, something pulled back on it. I left the house. What do I do?!

First off you need a journal and start writing down everything that is happening. Time Dates, what happened, feeling in the room.   Start from there.

OMIGOD! MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would not care if i owned the place, i would sell it right away!!!!! i live alone, my mom bought me a house... i ignore EVERYTHING weird thats happening but if it starts to do all that in my house... i WILL MOVE OUT!

I heard that there are spirits living everywhere, the only thing that keeps them from being strong and moving things is the laughter and positive atmosphere around the area. if the room is somehow abandoned, the spirits grow stronger. maybe thats what happened there.

try having it blessed by a good pastor or priest... pray for the souls, light up a candle on the door... if you dont believe in that, MOVE OUT.

If that was happening to me..I would go out and buy some small cameras and place them where the activity is happening..and hide them, incase it is a person playing tricks on you..dont be surprised either way..what ever it is or who, should show up..and they dont cost much..and you can get wireless cameras, which run off your cordless phone unit, or router...I dont let nothing get away with anything..ghosts or people....

Ok so you have a good alarm system..thats strange if its not going off as well with say if you have a ghost wandering around..normally they will set alarms off, specially if they are sensitive....

I would either put small cameras up, where its happening, or get someone out there to see if they can monitor the occurences, and pick something up..what else can you do..I wouldnt move out.....

lol thats strange cause ive been finding beads on my floor, dont know where they are coming from..im looking at them now..i pick them up, and new ones show up in different colours..i just noticed a new one just now..a pink one..lol

just a suggestion to see if anyone is meesing with you... sprinkle powder on things where you think is always being messed with, like door handles, mirrors, on the floor... then you go to bed.. the next day, check it out for prints... if you could see footprints or hand prints, someone might bee fooling around... or maybe it could be ghost.. its just to make sure that there are things "disturbing" in the house..

i have heard a few thing about hauntings. you can smudge the house with sage smudge sticks. then take holy water and put it on the wood above the window in the sign of the cross. as you do this ask for Gods light to enter in to banish all evil and darkness. do the same over each and every door. in the corners put blessed salt. over the doorpost nail a medal of st. michaes and reciete his prayer. bury these metals in the 4 corners of your property, reciteing the same prayer. also bury one in the front and back center of your property asking St Michaels protection. you will find that if you ask any kind of holy man to come it is at best a temporary fix. if the church sanctions a full exercism, which it allows for people anyways, if a person needs exercism too then that is all right. if someone says that there is a porthole in your home, or on the property, things will pretty much remain haunted. just because one evil entity is expelled, it doesn't mean that others won't use the porthole to come through. with a porthole present, it usually means that at some time the dark arts were practiced there, and now there is a perminant gateway to evil that has been opened wide. i would get rid of that place as fast as i could. please take the complete loss on getting rid of the house, don't sell it to someone else so that they can suffer the same way you have, maybe even harmed or taken over by the evil entity. contact people who are expert in this field of paranormal happenings. let them thoroughly investigate. look up the history of your land, and your house. this will help them to make a determination, as to what is going on.the prayer to St Michael is   St Michael , the Arcangel defend us this day in battle be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. graceourly rebuke him oh Lord and do thow oh Prince of the Heavenly Host  through the Divine Power of God cast into h**l Satan and all the evil spirits who wander the world seeking the ruine of souls. If what your saying is true, there are many answers on here that can give you great help. You should hide a camera in there at least to give yourself some assurance it is not an actual person. Maybe even a voice recorder hidden in the medicine cabinet. This together will give you a good insight on what you are dealing with.

If it is not a real person then try the blessing, smudging or St. Micheal. One important thing do not let it know it has frightened you, stand strong and tell it to leave.

If all this proves to much and/or you can't bring yourself to do this, then contact a Paranormal group in you area.

If you consider and investigate these things one at a time you'll find a perfectly natural explanation.  Most all experiences perceived to be paranormal are due to the interpretation of natural events in an unnatural context.  In other words, if your brain is primed for a paranormal event you are more likely to perceive a normal event as paranormal in nature.

You don't need a "specialist" because there aren't any.  You don't need a holy man to bless the place unless you are superstitious.  Same goes for invoking Catholic saints or burning leaves.  All you need is courage, critical thinking skills and a desire to understand what happened.

I am sometimes surprised by some of the hysterical answers I see here.

Some one must be having a duplicate key of your block. It is possible that your boyfriend has an another g/f. What Nirmala says is right. You just sprinkle some powder on the handles etc. and don,t tell your boyfriend about it. And believe me there is no existance of a thing called ghost. So don,t worry just behave courageously and try to find out the truth.

I don't believe in ghosts so I think there must be a logical  explanation for what is happening.

What do you mean there is an image of a person in all of your photos?

A shadowy sort of image or someone recognizable? Perhaps you have dirt in your lens?

It does sound like there is someone in your house doing those things.

FIRST you look through a phonebook or go online and find out where you can find some paranormal investigators. A psychic, medium, or someone like that will walk through your flat to get a feel for your flat and they will see, hear and feel things, along with the psychic will be some paranormal investigators with equipment to record things etc. Based on what they find they will either tell you to get the h**l out or they wil help you contact a priest so he can do either a blessing or an exorcism.

watch out i heard of a similer incident to yours .....it wasnt ghosts it was a homeless guy hiding in the attic or basement......i think he killed everyone in the house......im going to check mines now as i have gave myself the creeps

i reccomend having someone come and check it out. there are people who's jobs are to come and look for stuff like that. I know i had a friend's cousin have a haunted flat. and their aunt (who's a physic) felt something the moment she walked into the room. she started walking around and found the spots where the ghosts were. totally get it checked out. i'm sure its nothing to be afraid of. and the people will tell you if the ghost is mad or wants you to do something. in the case with my friend. the ghosts just wanted them to move some stuff around and not touch a few things, and its fine now.

i would suspect it to be haunted if no one else has access to your place. i would get it blessed by a holy man of your religion. then i would leave the house.

You may want to get a priest over there to bless the house......That's some weird stuff....I hope everything works out. Or you can try and get some holy water...say a prayer in every room,with the bible in your hand...and sprinkle water in every room that is haunted...I would just go for the whole house...Good luck :)

What scared me about your story is the part where you said you opened the door and something pulled it back. WOW if I was in your position I would have screamed and fainted! Honestly I suggest you move out as soon as possible!

Have you ever checked into the history of the property?

Like if your housing community was built over a cemetery, or old farmland?

Have you asked your neighbors if they too are experiencing anything odd?

If you've taken pictures and can see an outline of a body, then maybe contact a paranormal investigative team. See if they can have the entity removed.

When I use to travel, hotels would always put airline crews in the same rooms. Myself and other crew members would have the same experiences in certain rooms.

I know it's rather unsettling to have something there that you can't see, or know what it's capable of doing.

But of all my experiences, I think having my hair pulled was the most brutal thing I've ever encountered.

The same things happened to me in a house I used to live in. (The same one where someone broke in on me & threatened to kill me) All these things started happening. I was into spiritual things..so I thought it might be angels doing it..or a spirit who wasn't bad. Then...after some  really bad things happened...I realized it was a person coming in...was even there..hiding ..while I was there some of the time. They ended up doing awful things. I think it might have been the guy who broke in on me because  I promised not to tell..but I couldn't help but tell. Wish I had realized this..and checked it out more and made sure my doors and windows were locked..and had someone check out the place every time I came home. My whole life would have been different if I had caught him in time. Just don't assume it's a spirit...when somebody  really might be doing this to you. They probably WANT you to think your place is haunted. They're probably laughing at you!

Edit..Any chance your bf has an old  gf who might be doing this..to get back at both of you??

Edit...If you get the cameras (great idea) like 333 says..I wouldn't even tell my bf about them..or anybody else. You never know!

Edit...My bathroom door was closed too...when my son said he had opened it. (or vice versa) I know now that he  was hiding in my bathroom closet. You probably almost caught him/her! You might be lucky that you DIDN'T catch them.Maybe you were being protected.

Edit...This is the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel that "u called" was telling you about. Maybe you can copy it and put it on the wall too.

Its very hard to believe your claims at your word, and I usually like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

The only natural explanations I could think of would require seeing a psychologist and perhaps checking into a hospital.

I would love to see the photos if you could post them on flickr or something. Try doing taking some video so we (or somebody) can see whats going on.
