The AC and fridge have been broken for a week now. They brought in a new fridge which also doesn't work and still has remains of another persons food in it. What are my rights? What are they required to do? Thanks for any help!

  1. Check your lease, 98% of the time landlords have to repair/replace appliances immediately.

Some can be shady and find a loophole.

That's unacceptable that there was food in the old fridge.

I own one property and we have all repairs done in 24 hours or less, otherwise the tenants call and complain(which they have the right to do)

Best thing to do is know your rights and cal, call, call! Landlords want to be left alone and if they do their job they will be.

  2. Try to work it out with the landlord. You can always call the health Department in your town

  3. Yes he or she is required to fix it. However, you might need to get a court involved with documentation that you've asked them to fix it and they have not.

And if the fridge was "new" why was there things inside of it?
