A friend of mine has worked as a model and actress her whole proffesional life...she is 34 now and has a toddler...she is planning to home educate her daughter so that she can use the rest of the time to send her daughter to dance, drama, singing lessons....and work on her performance skills at home, her daughter is very outgoing and lovely and you could really imagine her as a succesful actor...but is my friend wrong for deciding her daughters career for her like this? She says she will make friends in her classes as she gets older...is this right or wrong?

  1. This is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!!

Your friend is one SELFISH woman.  She is trying to live HER life through her child & that is SICK.

Let the child be who SHE wants to be NOT what the mother wants.

  2. I believe she is doing what she feels is best for her daughter.

Her daughter will make plenty of friends with the activities that she does.

  3. I don't think she has decided her daughter's career.  She may be pushing her in that direction, but ultimately her daughter will decide as an adult what she wants to do.  I believe that a parent has the right to decide how to educate their child and if she prefers homeschool, that is her right.  It is legal in all 50 states.

  4. i think she is thinking the best for her daughter

  5. Yes she is very wrong and could end up with her daughter resenting her! A parent cannot map out their childs life. It is a parents job to guide their child so they can make their own decisions!

  6. She's not deciding her daughter's career.  Sure, she's making some influences in an area that she herself loves, but her daughter will ultimately choose her path in life.

We all influence our children's interests as parents.
