  1. Pet Her And Put Your Hand Under Here Belly Feel Around Push A Little Feel If There Are Kicking And Swarming Inside.And If There Is She Might Be.

  2. its ok. Ull find out sooner or later in person. Thats how ppl find out by themselves

  3. Listen to Gizmo,

    and if some tell that they hamster don't listen to them or if they say Well i go a hamster and they the same thing don;t listen to them too.

    Hamster are not the same as Gerbil

  4. Well it helps witnessing the "act" because now at least you can have a rough idea at when to expect the little ones.

    I'm afraid you won't really be able to tell if she is definitely pregnant until a few days before the birth. Thing to look out for are;

    * Both male and female are nesting

    * Eating and drinking alot

    * Near the end of the pregnancy, the male will be thrown out of the nest.

    * Slight gaining of weight on the sides of her belly.

    Gestation period is anywhere between 23 - 30 days so start deciding now what you'll be doing with the pups when they are ready to leave the nest and also whether you are going to leave the male in to help look after the litter (and risk getting another litter as Gerbils mate a few hours after giving birth) or removing him and putting him in a separate cage.

    Good luck to you and if you need any more advice or tips just give me an email...

    *EDIT*

    Oh and Mandy, unlike Hamsters, Gerbils do not eat their young for no reason. The only time a female will kill/eat her young are if they are ill or have a foreign smell on them...

  5. she may be but they sometimes eat there youg two of my hamsters did that and it wasnt coool.

  6. There is a very good chance that she is pregnant or will be. to be safe expect babies in about 25 days. You may notice that your female will get irritated with your male in a few days but its nothing serious.  also towards the end of her pregnancy she will nest alot more than usual.  a few days before she has a them she will get slightly pear shaped.  the night of the birth the male will get extremely excited as he smells the birth arriving.  the female will move around the tank trying to find a comfortable position.  a gerbil can have 1 to 10 babies.  usually in the 4 to 6 range.  dont touch anything for a little over a week when the babies arrive other than giving them food and water. if you do get a litter take out the wheel to prevent injury.  also if you dont want another litter seperate your breeding pair because they will mate right after the birth.  so if you do choose to seperate them hopefully you have a baby boy gerbil to live with dad.  My gerbil is due to have her second litter in a few days so she is starting to show some signs and its really exciting.  so i hope all goes well for you.

  7. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRADS. THAT WILL BE 10 MORE GERBILS ON UR HANDS!
