Is my guitar a piece of junk?

I have recently gotten a lyon washburn electric guitar for my birthday I think it was got at walmart or something like that is it an ok guitar or a bad guitar?

Guitars are a little bit like televisions. You can get one with big screen, little screen, big speakers, plasma, wall mount - you get the idea. The main thing, though, is to be able to watch a program. Guitars come in lots of sizes, shapes, and colors - acoustic and electric. The main thing is the playing of it. If you are just learning, there is no need to have the most expensive guitar made, it won't make you practice. Only you can do that. A little time every day and you'll be playing great and be ready to find a guitar that suits your style.

The best guitar player I've ever seen in my life started out playing a cheapo Wal Mart First Act... after he got REALLY good on it he upgraded to a Ibanez, and that let him get even better...

They got it at target for 100 bucks, its OK to learn on but if youre serious about playing get a better one
