  1. I believe so...

Just check on her every 20 minutes.. on she drop, be sure to get them all up!! if not, she's sooooo gonna eat them..

  2. Hey:-)

Congrats.  A little DIY is required.  First and foremost fill up a container with water from the tank and add mum to it.  She will give birth in this ensuring the survival of the fry.  She will not eat them as pregnancy affects the hunger, she will not be hungry.  Once mum has giving birth, average being about 30 fry or less.  Just keep her in there till they stop popping out.  She will drop on average 2 at a time.  Then put her back in the tank were she will already be pregnant again.  Guppies store up to 6 sperm deposits.  This means they can go 5 months without male contact but keeping having fry.  She will giver birth every 23-25 days.

Once mum is back in the tank, since you do not have a heater to put in the container or glass bowl, you will need to create very small holes in a container to allow water and oxygen, smaller than your babies, then construct two holes and peirce string through.  From this your should be able to put the container in the tank to allow the warm water in the container, but hang the string out and put the lid down on the string to hold the container up so it does not sink.  In the meantime, ebay, fry hatcheries, you will get one for about £5.00.  If you want to keep experiencing this then its worth buying.  Or buy a glass bowl and a very small heater set at 24.  No filter required as long as you clean it every 4 days.

    Good luck :-)

  3. I believe she's giving birth! Lucky you! Put her in a breeding trap, the ones where you put the mom on top and her babies fall through a crack so the don't get eaten. Congratulations! My black molly had babies the second day I had her!

  4. She most probably is about to give birth. Also if you have a plastic trap or breeder tank to put her in I suggest you don't. Take out the other fish instead. My guppy did that and when I put her in a breeder tank she started panicking because of the lack of space and nowhere to hide. So the next morning I ended up with a dead guppy. Also she didn't give birth. So be cautious and don't disturb the guppy. Congratz!

Don't take her out of the tank or she will abort the fry. Maybe also die herself. :( After birth keep her away from the fry and other male fish because they will try to make her pregnant again and she is already so tired she might die of being so tired running away from the male guppies.

  5. she probly about to give birth when they are about to give birth they kinda hide

  6. Those do sound like signs she's about to give birth.  I'm concerned that you are seeing red in or near her gravid spot, though.  That's not a good sign.  You don't need to put her in a breeding trap.  In my experience they only tend to stress out a pregnant female and it sounds like yours is having a tough enough time already.  Is the back part of her belly looking a little angular (squared off) instead of rounded?  It should be if her vent is open in preparation for giving birth.

If all goes well the fry should start popping out of her vent shortly.  When first born they are folded in half, head to tail, then unfold as they fall.  Sometimes the newborn fry will rest for a bit on the bottom before swimming off and sometimes they will just swim right off.
