Just a few days ago, he was up and around. kinda. He drank a lot of water, and ate. But he doesnt run very much. Now, he is barely moving, slightly cold, but his eyes are open, and he is breathing slowly. I pick him up, he is limp. The only time I see him move, if he twitched. Or when (there is a clump of poo stuck where the hole is) so i tried pulling it out with a tweezer, but he was flinching. So I stopped. Now he just lays there in the towel on my lap, staring me me :(

He cant move, so he hasnt eaten or drinked anything. Can I do anything? Or just let him be and lay :(

his eyes seems runny, or wet...

HIS BOTTom is not wet

but he so weak, he cant even lift his own head.

he wont move at all!

wont open his mouth etc...

i've had him for about 2-3 years

  1. You have had him for a very long time. He is pretty old for hamster. You should be proud to have had him for so long, he had a happy, healthy life with you. Just remember that. If you think that there is enough time consider taking him to the vet. If you dont think there is enough time and there is nothing you can do, or the vet, just let him be. Just stroke him, hold him, keep him warm, offer him treats, food and water. Since he seems so weak the ride to the vet is probably not the best thing for him. Either way he seems just a little to weak. He's old hun. Everyone has to go sometime.

IM SOOOO SORRY!! i truly hope he's okay in the end!!

  2. A hamster has an average lifespan of two to three years (as opposed to, say, a guinea pig, that has an average lifespan of 5 years if well taken care of and given plenty of vitamin C).  If he won't eat, he is very sick.  You can either take him to the vet or give him comfort care to ease his passing.  My condolences.  Have you heard of the Rainbow Bridge?  Perhaps that will give you some comfort.

  3. You should have taken him to the vet when he got sick.

  4. Get your hamster funeral arrangements in order.

  5. omg i'm sorry. D:

you might just want to put him back in his cage, and let it run its course.

that way you don't have to sit there and watch it all happen.

i'm sorry this is happening. D:

  6. Sounds like he's ready for hamster heaven.

  7. Take him to the vet ASAP!!!!

  8. omg, i am so sorry!

its really weird. last night i had a dream my      hamster (Harry) came back to life.

  9. im really sorry but i have had a hampster too actually like 3 and they all did that before they died. i so very sorry but hampsters only live for about 2-3 years and thats it. i hope it gets better if its not dying but most likely it is =[ im so sorry !

  10. He's old, bring him to a vet

  11. sorry just let him rest

that is their max life anyway

  12. take him to the vet!

  13. i'm very sorry to say that it looks like the little guy is heading into hamster heaven. unfortunately they don't have the longest life span and a few years is usually a full life for them. just hold him and be with him during this time. he'll want his friend with him.

    best wishes

  14. ok souldnt like he could possably be seasing...its ok just keep him warm and stay with him offer him some glucose water if possable but other tan that there is nuthing you can do. he is verry old and maybe its just time.

  15. This is how my first hamster died I did not get it to the vet in time so I would get it to the vet if i where you 2-3 years is the hamsters life span so its dying you can take it to the vet but it still might die

  16. take him to a small animal vet. they can tell you wats wrong with him. he might have an illness like wet tail. if they tell you he is going to pass away, then you might have the choice to euthanize him, which is the humane thing to do.
