Is my hamster crazy???

Question

my hamster runs on the wall in a fuiger 8 (side ways) on the wall 4 the past few day and i think hes crazy or sumting??

help me???

Your hamster has a respiratory infection that has given him or her an ear infection.  You can't cure it, medicine like Sulfar is given to rodents but it is does not stop it.  My rat has the same problem, she had a respiratory infection and then it traveled to her ears for an ear infection that caused damage.  At night she runs in the same space and tilts her head.  

I work at PetSmart and she was rescued from the back by me, respiratory disease is caused by improper home habitat.  The animal lives in fecal and amonia from urine.    Good Luck.

If it were my hamster, i would say that he or she is really tired of the habitat that you have it in.  I have been told that you have to let your hamster out of the cage or habitat everyday for a while.  I let out mine everyday for bout 30 minutes.  Just let it run around or be in a different surrounding.  

You also may want to consider getting the hamster an exercise ball.  you can buy them at any pet store.  Its just a hollow plastic ball that you can put your hamster in so he or she can run around.  Usually works to calm the hamster down.

maybe he's bored, my hamster does that but I give it something good to chew on and she stops.

dont worry its just bored my hammys do the same thing

so i got them a couple wheels and they stopped

get a m8 fot it  or some toys

toilet paper roll cores will do

or another house 4 sum reason it really interests them with new things or some tubes from petsmart

i personally suggest the houses with toys in the side for them to chew on =D

make sure it has food

and a big cage

they hate small cages =/

What do you mean, on the wall? Maybe he's just bored, try getting him some more toys, I suggest these toys highly, my hamster loves them!

sounds like he may be restless...from boredom or bad nutrition.

Easy solution: play with him more (and give him more toys -chew toys are great) and make sure you're giving him greens too, not just pellets.

otherwise, maybe he is just weird. i came up on my hamster chasing her tail the other day like a dog. sometimes pets are just odd. its fun to watch though haha

He may be bored or stressed out.  Does he have enough toys to play with, things to chew on.  Give him several  cores to  toilet paper rolls to chew on and hide in.  Make sure his nutritional needs are met and his bedding is clean and his cage is big enough for him.  Do you play with him enough?  He may be missing social contact.
