  1. dude i feel you.

i have a male hamster and had a female hamster. they had 3 baby hamsters.

long story short, the only survivor is daddy and i feel that he is lonely now althought i play with him for like an hour or more each night.

  2. uh.....

15 minutes a day playing with you is fine. if he's a syrian, dont worry about getting him a new friend. they are solitary anyway.

  3. What kind of hamster is he?

Maybe you want to get him a friend if he's a dwarf or chinese hamster.

You can put some toys in there to keep him busy and if you have other people in your house, you can have them play with him. Hope I helped ^_^

  4. Impossible to tell, since you haven't explained why you think he's lonely.

  5. no just keep just keep feeding it and giving it water and cleaning its cage and let it out every now and then.

  6. Hamsters need at least a little bit of attention a day; even if its very brief, they'll appreciate it. 15-30 minutes is fine with most hamsters, though some don't like to be held for so long.

There is a possibility that the hamster is bored; do you have sufficient toys in its cage to suit its needs? Wheels, tunnels (toilet paper rolls work nicely!) and chew toys will keep your hamster occupied, so it doesn't just mope around its cage all day. Also, if your hamster is bored, or just acting lethargic around you, it may be because he is being active in the evening; hamsters are nocturnal by nature, and may be playing and having fun while you're asleep.

This would be a last resort if you're hamster really is lonely; consider getting him a friend (if he's a Syrian hamster, then don't continue reading this). Depending on the breed, hamsters can be housed in the same cage with the same gender (if you bring a female hamster into his territory, expect baby hammies in a few short weeks, though). If they are introduced on neutral ground, ie., a cage that doesn't carry either one of their scents, and you leave toys and treats scattered around the new cage, they won't be hostile towards each other, due to their curious nature, they'll be more interested in the toys and treats than the other hamster, and by the same they've settled down, they may be okay with one another. But be warned; if you get a hamster that is aggressive (or if the hamster you currently have is aggressive) the new hamster may need to have a cage to itself, so that there wouldn't be any fights between them. And if you were to put a female in with your current hamster, and they manage to reproduce (because they rarely don't), it would be very price-y and time consuming to care for your hamsters and their offspring.

Because you didn't really specify your hamsters behavior, and reasons you believe he's bored, I just gave some general answers, so I dunno if they'll help or not.

    ;P
